Hawker Siddeley Nimrod

The Hawker Siddeley Nimrod was a British jet-powered maritime patrol and special-mission aircraft developed from the de Havilland Comet airliner. The Royal Air Force used it for maritime reconnaissance, anti-submarine warfare, search and rescue, and related missions. The first Nimrod entered RAF service in 1969, and the type remained in service until 2011 before being replaced by other surveillance aircraft.
