Italicus Rosolio di Bergamotto

Italicus is an Italian rosolio liqueur launched in 2016 that revives a largely dormant traditional Italian liqueur category. It is made with bergamot citrus sourced from Calabria, along with seven complementary Italian botanicals.

The liqueur was launched in 2016 by Giuseppe Gallo, an Italian spirits entrepreneur with deep ties to the Amalfi Coast and southern Italy. He aimed to bring back the historic rosolio category for the modern cocktail market.

Italicus has a relatively low alcohol by volume (ABV) of 20%, making it a lighter spirit. This allows the bright citrus notes of the Calabrian bergamot to shine without being overpowered by strong alcohol heat.

It is highly versatile in cocktails, most famously served as an Italicus Spritz mixed with Prosecco and soda water. It can also be enjoyed simply poured over ice with a twist of lemon to highlight its citrus profile.
