The Black Marsh Skimmer, Indothemis carnatica, is a dragonfly in the family Libellulidae found in India, Sri Lanka, and Thailand. It is associated with weedy ponds and lakes. Mature males are dark brown to violet-black with contrasting pale yellow markings near the end of the abdomen, while females have a markedly different greenish-yellow body patterned with brown and black. This strong difference between the sexes is an important feature in field identification.
