Charles Kuonen Suspension Bridge

Opened in 2017 above Randa in Switzerland's Mattertal, the Charles Kuonen Suspension Bridge forms part of the Europaweg hiking route. Its 494-meter span carries pedestrians across steep terrain on a narrow suspended walkway. The structure became known for its exceptional length when it opened, but describing it as the current world's longest pedestrian suspension bridge would be misleading because later bridges have exceeded that span. The crossing combines practical trail infrastructure with a conspicuous feat of alpine engineering.
