description Samurai Banners Overview

Samurai Banners is a 1969 Japanese historical epic directed by Hiroshi Inagaki and based on a novel by Yasushi Inoue. It is set during the Sengoku period and centers on the samurai Yamamoto Kansuke, played by Toshiro Mifune, as he rises in the service of warlord Takeda Shingen. The story follows Kansuke's campaigns, loyalties, and rivalry within the Takeda clan, culminating around the conflicts at Kawanakajima.
