description 143 Adria Overview
143 Adria is a dark C-type asteroid in the middle region of the main belt, with an estimated diameter of about 90 km. Austrian astronomer Johann Palisa discovered it on 23 February 1875 at the Austrian Naval Observatory and named it after the Adriatic Sea, which borders the observatory's location in present-day Croatia. Adria takes about 4.59 years to orbit the Sun and rotates in about 22 hours.
