You advance through training modes like the jump rope and speed bag to build your fighter's stats, then launch pinballs at the mechanical boxer figure on the playfield to deal damage during match sequences. Each successful hit weakens the opponent, and completing enough hits triggers a knockout multiball. The toy boxer physically reacts to hits, making it one of the more interactive features on a late-90s Bally table.

The Champion Pub was designed by George Gomez, who is also known for designing other iconic pinball machines and later became Chief Creative Officer at Stern Pinball. It was released by Bally in 1998 during the Williams/Bally era of pinball manufacturing. The table features art and sound work that complement Gomez's mechanically inventive playfield design.

The jump rope is a physical playfield mechanism where a ball enters a lane and a simulated jump-rope animation or mechanical gate must be timed correctly for the ball to pass through. Successfully completing jump-rope reps contributes to training your boxer's stats before a fight. It is one of the three mini-game-style features alongside the speed bag and the boxer mech.
