The Bhima River is a major tributary of the Krishna River in India. It rises in the Bhimashankar hills of the Western Ghats in Maharashtra and flows southeast through Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Telangana before joining the Krishna near the Karnataka-Telangana border. The river drains a large basin that includes densely settled agricultural areas. Dams and barrages along its course are used for irrigation and water storage, including the Ujjani reservoir in Maharashtra.
