Penna

description Penna Overview

The Penna River, also called Pennar, Penneru, or Pinakini, is a river of southern India. It rises in the Nandi Hills of Karnataka, flows east through Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, passes the Gandikota gorge and historic fort, and reaches the Bay of Bengal near Nellore. The river is about 597 kilometres long, and its basin supports irrigation in a region where rainfall is seasonally variable. Its course is therefore relevant to both agriculture and the landscape of the Eastern Ghats.
