The bluntnose stingray (Hypanus say) is a species of cartilaginous fish belonging to the whiptail stingray family, Dasyatidae. This benthic species is easily identified by its distinctly rounded snout, flat body, and long, whip-like tail equipped with a venomous spine for defense.
