The Chilean Flicker (Colaptes pitius) is a woodpecker of the family Picidae found in Chile and adjacent southwestern Argentina. Its Chilean range extends from the Coquimbo Region south to central Magallanes, while Argentine records occur from Neuquén to Santa Cruz. It is a monotypic species and is associated with open and wooded habitats, including shrublands; unlike many woodpeckers, it commonly forages on the ground. Adults have barred brown upperparts, a whitish face, and pale underparts marked by broad dark bars.
