Coropuna is a massive, heavily glaciated stratovolcano located in the Arequipa region of southern Peru. Standing at an elevation of approximately 6,377 meters, it is the highest volcanic peak in the country and one of the tallest mountains in the Andes. The volcano features multiple summits and retains the largest glacier system in Peru, making it a vital source of water for the surrounding arid highland agricultural communities.
