Cunaris Sound

description Cunaris Sound Overview

Cunaris Sound is a narrow inlet in Fiordland, New Zealand, connected with the network of waterways around Preservation Inlet. Historical geological and mining reports from the late nineteenth century list Cunaris Sound among the localities examined during investigations of gold-bearing areas in and around Preservation Inlet. The sound is therefore relevant both as a remote coastal landform and as part of New Zealand's short-lived Southland gold-mining history.
