description Daintree River Ringtail Possum Overview
The Daintree River ringtail possum, also called the cinereus ringtail, is the marsupial Pseudochirulus cinereus of northeastern Queensland, Australia. It is almost wholly restricted to the Daintree catchment; within Daintree National Park it occurs in upland rainforest on Thornton Peak and in the upper reaches of the Daintree and Mossman rivers. It was once treated as a light-coloured form of the Herbert River ringtail possum, but was described as a distinct species in 1989.
