description Dissected Till Plains Overview
The Dissected Till Plains are a glaciated landform region of the American Midwest, especially Iowa and Missouri. Continental glaciers deposited layers of till, or unsorted sediment, and later streams cut valleys through that material. The result is a landscape of rolling uplands, steep-sided valleys, and locally rugged stream corridors rather than a perfectly flat plain. The region supports extensive farming and includes parts of the Corn Belt.
