Emi Koussi is a prominent shield volcano located in the Tibesti Mountains of northern Chad. Rising to an elevation of 3,415 meters, it holds the distinction of being the highest peak in both Chad and the entire Sahara Desert. The summit of the volcano features two distinct calderas and several lava domes, attracting scientific study regarding its geological formation and isolated alpine ecosystem.
