Giant Swing

description Giant Swing Overview

In artistic gymnastics, a giant swing is a complete rotation around a bar while the gymnast maintains a straight or nearly straight body. The movement normally begins and ends in handstand, passing through the bottom of the swing while the shoulders, hips, and legs stay aligned to preserve momentum. Giants can be performed on the horizontal bar and, in related forms, on the uneven bars, and they are often linked into sequences with other bar skills. The element requires trained grip, shoulder, and body-control technique.
