Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier

Domaine Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier owns or farms parcels in several prestigious Chambolle-Musigny vineyards, including portions of the Grand Cru Musigny and the Premier Cru Les Amoureuses. The domaine also produces village-level Chambolle-Musigny and wines from nearby appellations such as Nuits-Saint-Georges.

Mugnier emphasizes a restrained, hands-off approach in the cellar, favoring gentle extraction, minimal use of new oak, and long élévage to preserve the purity and transparency of Pinot Noir. He also employs sustainable viticulture, having moved away from herbicides, to better express the unique terroir of each vineyard site.

The Mugneret family has deep roots in Burgundy winemaking going back several generations, with vineyard holdings passed through inheritance.
