description Kohuora Overview

Kohuora is a volcanic tuff cone in Papatoetoe, in the Auckland urban area of New Zealand. It formed through explosive interaction between rising magma and groundwater and is one of the volcanic landforms of the Auckland Volcanic Field. Part of the cone was quarried for construction aggregate, while the remaining landform is protected as a geological feature.
