Waitomokia (Mt Gabriel)

description Waitomokia (Mt Gabriel) Overview

Waitomokia, also known as Mount Gabriel, was a volcanic tuff cone in New Zealand's Auckland Volcanic Field. Much of the cone was removed by quarrying during the twentieth century, leaving a reduced landform and protected remnants. The site is associated with Auckland's broader field of monogenetic volcanoes, which formed through separate eruptions rather than from one long-lived central volcano.
