Magliano Lead Tablet

description Magliano Lead Tablet Overview

The Magliano Lead Tablet, also called the Lead Plaque or Lead Disk of Magliano, is an Etruscan inscribed lead object from Italy, generally dated to the fifth century BCE. Its text is arranged in a spiral and contains roughly seventy-three Etruscan words, including names associated with deities and ritual or dedicatory practice. Because the Etruscan language remains only partly understood, the tablet is important to specialists studying Etruscan writing, religion, and archaeology.
