Mark Williams is a British clinical psychologist and emeritus professor at the University of Oxford whose work focuses on depression, suicidal behavior, and mindfulness-based interventions. With John Teasdale and Zindel Segal, he developed Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, which combines mindfulness practices with elements of cognitive therapy. MBCT was designed particularly to help people with recurrent depression recognize unhelpful mental patterns and reduce relapse risk.
