Mount Speke is a prominent mountain located in the Rwenzori Mountains National Park of Uganda, reaching an elevation of 4,890 meters. It is the second-highest peak in the Rwenzori range, which is known for its equatorial snowfields and unique alpine vegetation. The mountain was named after the 19th-century British explorer John Hanning Speke, who explored the region in search of the source of the Nile River. Characterized by jagged, rocky ridges and receding glaciers, Mount Speke is situated within a chain of peaks that also includes Mount Stanley and Mount Baker, requiring technical climbing skills to navigate.
