Nabarlek

description Nabarlek Overview

The nabarlek is a small rock-wallaby native to northern Australia and associated with rocky escarpments, cliffs, and rugged outcrops. Scientifically named Petrogale concinna, it was described by John Gould in 1842 and is distinguished from other marsupials by molars that are continually replaced from the rear of the jaw. It is a nocturnal herbivore and is of interest to zoologists and conservationists studying Australia's specialized rock-dwelling mammals.
