description Porthgwarra Overview
Porthgwarra is a small cove and former fishing hamlet on the south coast of the Penwith peninsula in west Cornwall, England, situated between Porthcurno and Land's End. A pair of tunnels, hand-cut through the surrounding rock, allow pedestrian access to the beach and were historically used by fishermen to haul boats above the tideline. The sheltered, rocky cove attracts snorkelers and swimmers during summer. It has also served as a filming location for the BBC television adaptation of Poldark.
