The Pungwe River is a transboundary river of southeastern Africa that rises below Mount Nyangani in Zimbabwe's Eastern Highlands and flows eastward across Mozambique. It passes through the country's Manica and Sofala provinces before reaching the Indian Ocean at the city of Beira, where it forms a large estuary. The river is about 400 km long and its shared basin is relevant to water supply, irrigation, flood management, and cooperation between Zimbabwe and Mozambique.
