The swamp antechinus, Antechinus minimus, is a small carnivorous marsupial native to southeastern Australia, including Tasmania and parts of the southern mainland. It inhabits wet heathland, sedgeland, and other dense, damp vegetation, where it feeds mainly on insects and other small invertebrates. The species was described in 1803 and was the first member of the genus Antechinus to receive a scientific description.
