It entered service in North America in 1968 and operated in both the United States and Canada, including passenger service associated with Amtrak, Canadian National, and later VIA Rail. The train used articulated cars and a tilting design intended to support higher speeds on existing routes, making it a notable early North American high-speed rail experiment.
