Western brush wallaby

description Western brush wallaby Overview

The western brush wallaby is the macropod Notamacropus irma, also known as the black-gloved wallaby. Claude Jourdan described it in 1837, and the species is native to the southwestern coastal region of Western Australia. It is generally gray with white markings around the face and limbs, while the dark coloring of its lower limbs provides the alternative common name; unlike many macropods, it is chiefly active during the day and feeds mainly on grass.
