Wine Red Pinto Shrimp

Wine Red Pintos generally thrive in the soft, acidic conditions used for Taiwan bee Caridina, often around pH 5.5 to 6.5 with very low carbonate hardness. A mature aquarium with stable parameters and active buffering soil is more important than chasing one exact number.

They can coexist peacefully with Neocaridina cherry shrimp, but their preferred water differs. Wine Red Pintos favor softer, more acidic water, while Neocaridina usually tolerate harder and more alkaline conditions.

Not every juvenile will reproduce the parent's wine-red and white mosaic because pinto shrimp come from selectively mixed Taiwan bee lines. Breeders normally grade the offspring and retain individuals with the strongest color coverage and desired spotting.

Wine Red Pintos are selected for irregular red-and-white pinto markings, while Red Galaxy Fishbones typically show a dorsal fishbone pattern plus small galaxy-like spots. Both belong to the wider group of selectively bred Caridina cantonensis-type shrimp.
