Suceava Fortress, also called the Medieval Seat Fortress of Suceava, is a fortified complex in northeastern Romania. It was developed in the fourteenth century as a residence and defensive center of the rulers of Moldavia, when Suceava served as the principality's capital. Stephen the Great significantly reinforced the fortifications in the fifteenth century, adding stronger walls and defensive features that helped the site withstand attacks before the Moldavian capital moved to Iași in the sixteenth century.
