description Tubaria furfuracea Overview

Tubaria furfuracea, commonly called the scurfy twiglet, is a small brown saprotrophic mushroom and one of the most frequently encountered fungi in Europe and North America. It fruits in clusters on wood chips, garden mulch, and woody debris, especially during cooler months, and is recognized by its hygrophanous cap and its pale, decurrent gills. It is classed as inedible and is too small and insubstantial to be of culinary value.
