description Chorten Kora Overview
Chorten Kora is an eighteenth-century Buddhist chorten in Trashiyangtse, eastern Bhutan. Lama Ngawang Loday began its construction in the 1740s, and its design was modeled on Nepal's Boudhanath Stupa, although the finished structure differs in form. The site is associated with annual Dakpa Kora and Drukpa Kora circumambulation observances attended by pilgrims from Bhutan and Arunachal Pradesh.
