Damask

description Damask Overview

Damask is a reversible figured textile in which patterns are created by contrasting weave structures, commonly combinations of satin and sateen. The technique takes its name from Damascus, historically an important center in the textile trade, although patterned fabrics of this type have been produced in several regions. Damask may be woven from silk, linen, cotton, wool, or synthetic fibers and is widely used for table linens, upholstery, drapery, and clothing.
