Double Weave

description Double Weave Overview

Double weave is a weaving structure in which two layers of cloth are produced at the same time through controlled separation of warp and weft systems. The layers may remain distinct, connect along selected edges, exchange positions, or join at intervals, allowing a weaver to create tubes, pockets, reversible textiles, and cloth wider than the loom. It can be executed with many fibers and is used in apparel, blankets, furnishings, and handwoven art textiles.
