Babur (1483-1530) was a Timurid prince from Central Asia and the founder of the Mughal Empire in the Indian subcontinent. After losing and contesting territories around Samarkand, he established himself in Kabul before defeating Ibrahim Lodi at the First Battle of Panipat in 1526.
