Heel Stretch (Cheer)

description Heel Stretch (Cheer) Overview

In cheerleading, a heel stretch is a one-leg position in which the flyer holds the heel of the lifted leg and extends that leg away from the body. The stunt is commonly performed with the supporting leg straight and the lifted leg held high, while the bases and, when used, a spotter help support the flyer. It combines balance, leg flexibility, hip mobility, core control, and grip strength, so it is used by cheer athletes practicing one-leg stunts and performance positions.
