Horace Harmon Lurton was an American lawyer and judge who served as an associate justice of the Supreme Court of the United States from January 1910 until his death in July 1914. President William Howard Taft nominated him to succeed Rufus W. Peckham after the two had worked together on the federal bench. Lurton had previously served on the Tennessee Supreme Court and the U.S.

Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. He was 65 when he joined the Supreme Court, making his appointment notable for the age at which it occurred.
