Lake Sakakawea is a large reservoir located on the Missouri River in North Dakota, United States. It was created by the construction of the Garrison Dam, which was completed in 1953 by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. As one of the largest man-made lakes in the United States by surface area, it spans over 300 miles in length.

The reservoir is utilized for irrigation, flood control, hydroelectric power, and recreation.
