The soybean looper (Chrysodeixis includens) is a moth native to the Americas whose larva is a major defoliating pest of soybean crops in the southern United States and South America. The green looper caterpillars, which move with a characteristic looping motion, also feed on plants such as peanut and sweet potato, and the species is known for developing resistance to several insecticides. Adults are migratory, moving northward during the growing season.
