description Duncan Grapefruit Overview
The Duncan grapefruit is a historic white-fleshed citrus cultivar and one of the oldest documented grapefruit varieties in Florida, tracing its origins to the 1820s from seeds introduced by Count Odet Philippe. Although it fell out of favor for the fresh market due to its high seed count, it is heavily valued for its rich, sweet-tart flavor and abundant juice. Because of its exceptional taste and productivity, it was historically selected as the parent variety for the seedless Marsh grapefruit.
