The EMD SD80MAC is a six-axle, alternating-current diesel-electric freight locomotive built by Electro-Motive Division in the mid-1990s. It is distinguished by its 20-cylinder EMD 710-series prime mover, an unusually large engine within that product family, and by AC traction equipment intended for heavy-haul service. Most production examples were built for Conrail and were later divided between successor railroads CSX Transportation and Norfolk Southern.
