Hamdi Ulukaya is a Turkish-born American entrepreneur and the founder of Chobani. He established the company in 2005 after purchasing a closed yogurt factory in upstate New York, and Chobani began selling strained yogurt in the United States shortly afterward. Ulukaya has also supported refugee employment and entrepreneurship through the Tent Partnership for Refugees, an organization he founded.
