Inocybe erubescens

description Inocybe erubescens Overview

Inocybe erubescens is a poisonous mushroom commonly called the deadly fibrecap or red-staining inocybe. It contains a high concentration of muscarine, a toxin that can cause sweating, salivation, vomiting, diarrhea, slowed heart rate, breathing problems, and other signs of muscarinic poisoning. The species occurs in Europe and fruits in spring or summer, when its appearance can make accurate identification important because it may be mistaken for edible species.
