MicroModal is a branded form of modal fiber produced by the Austrian company Lenzing from cellulose derived from wood. Its fibers are finer than conventional modal, giving fabrics a smooth hand, fluid drape, and suitability for lightweight knits. It is commonly blended with elastane or other fibers in underwear, sleepwear, and close fitting garments, while retaining the moisture absorbency associated with regenerated cellulose textiles.
