Musawwarat es-Sufra is a large ancient religious and ceremonial complex in present-day Sudan, built during the Meroitic period of the Kingdom of Kush. Its monuments include the Great Enclosure, temples, processional spaces, reliefs, inscriptions, and evidence of water-management works. The complex was used over several centuries, broadly from the third century BCE into the fourth century CE, and its architecture reflects local Kushite traditions alongside wider influences from the Nile Valley. It is studied as a major archaeological site of ancient Nubia.
