Taffeta

description Taffeta Overview

Taffeta is a crisp, tightly woven textile made with a plain weave, traditionally from silk and now also from synthetic fibers such as polyester or nylon. Its smooth surface, slight horizontal rib, and characteristic rustling sound result from the structure and finish of the fabric. Because it holds its shape well, taffeta is commonly used for evening wear, wedding dresses, structured skirts, ribbons, linings, curtains, and other decorative applications.
