Palace of Nestor (Pylos)

description Palace of Nestor (Pylos) Overview

The Palace of Nestor is a Mycenaean archaeological site near Pylos in Messenia, southwestern Greece. The palace complex included a central megaron, storage areas, administrative rooms, and archives containing clay tablets written in Linear B, a script used to record an early form of Greek. The settlement was destroyed by fire near the end of the Bronze Age, and the burning helped preserve many of the tablets that document palace administration and economic activity.
