Scale (Balance)

description Scale (Balance) Overview

A scale balance is a static gymnastics position in which the athlete supports the body on one leg while extending the other leg away from the body, commonly to the rear. The arms and torso are positioned to help maintain control, and the free leg may be held at different heights depending on the skill level and apparatus. Scale positions develop balance, flexibility, body alignment, and strength, and appear in training and beam routines.
