V-Sit

description V-Sit Overview

A V-sit is a static strength and balance position in gymnastics and calisthenics. The athlete supports the body on the hands, keeps the arms straight, lifts the hips, and extends the legs forward so the trunk and legs form a V shape. The hold requires substantial compression strength, shoulder stability, hip-flexor control, and balance, and is used in floor-based conditioning as well as skill practice.
